Rachel graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Virginia College at Wise in 2018. After teaching fourth grade in Louisa County, she quickly realized she wanted to continue her education to be able to work with students in a different way. While starting her master’s program, Rachel was the full-time Assistant Women’s Lacrosse coach at The University of Virginia College at Wise. Rachel graduated with her masters in school counseling from The College of William and Mary in 2022, and is now our full-time school counselor for Kindergarten through 8th grade. Along with individual and group counseling, she still utilizes her teaching degree to work with teachers and students within the classroom to enhance social emotional learning for Elementary and Middle School students. Along with teaching and counseling, the past two years, Rachel has been the Head Girls Varsity Lacrosse Coach at Albemarle High School. Outside of school, Rachel loves to be able to spend time with family (her husband and their dog) on Lake Anna. If you aren’t familiar with Mrs. Rachel, then you may have heard her called by her nickname, Rocky (which most of the students will call her).
