Kate Silvey

Kate Silvey is originally from Kingsport, TN and studied English at the University of Alabama before earning her Master’s in Teaching from UVA in 2021. Before coming to first grade, she taught kindergarten in a public school and spent the 2022-2023 school year in the Cubs classroom here at CDS. When she isn’t teaching, Kate loves writing stories, reading, cooking, befriending every cat she sees, and daydreaming about traveling the world. She is so excited to begin her second year at CDS and dive into the wonderful world of first grade!
